II. Sentence Pattern

(1)開車很危險

• Driving is very dangerous.
• Ex. Parking is very difficult in the downtown.
• Smoking is harmful and unhealthy.

(2)你永遠猜不到…

• You'll never know what will happen on the road.
• Ex. You'll never know what the future will be.
• You'll never know what women are thinking about.

(3)我再也不必那麼早起床了

• I don't have to get up so early anymore.
• Ex. I don't have to go to work by bus anymore because
• there is an MRT station near my home.
• I don't have to listen to the mean, stingy boss
• Anymore cause I have a new good job now.

III. Dialogue

(Kay凱與Jack傑克對話)

• Kay: How do you go to work? 你怎麼去上班阿？
• Jack: I drive to work everyday. And how do you go to work? 我每天開車上班？那你怎麼去上班？
• Kay: I usually go to work by bus or by MRT. 我通常搭公車或是捷運去上班。
• Jack: That's so convenient and comfortable. Sometimes, driving is very dangerous. You'll never know what will happen on the road. Besides, parking in the big city is a big problem. 那應該又方遍又舒服吧！有時候開車真的很危險，你永遠不知道在路上會發生什麼事。而且要在大城市找個停車位是個大問題。
• Kay: That's true. It takes me about 15 minutes to get to the office. I don't have to get up so early anymore. 那倒是真的。我現在只要花大約十五分鐘的時間就可以到達辦公室。我再也不用那麼早起床了。
• Jack: Everyday, I spend almost 40 minutes on the traffic jam. It's really a waste of time. 每天我都要花四十分鐘在塞車上。真是浪費時間！
• Kay: That's right. How long do you drive? I even don't get the driver's license. 對阿。你開車開多久啦？我甚至還沒拿到駕照。
• Jack: About six years. Didn't you pass the driving test? 大概六年吧。你沒通過考試嗎？
• Kay: No. I only passed the paper test. It's shameful that I had two road tests. I haven't got the license till now. 沒有阿。我只考過筆試。講起來真丟臉我考了兩次路考，直到現在，我還沒拿到駕照。
• Jack: Be patient. I got the license after five road tests. 要有耐心一點。我考了五次才拿到駕照。
• Kay: Really! It seems it takes a long time to get the license. What make your car? 真的阿！看來要花很久的時間才能拿到駕照！你的車子是什麼牌子的？
• Jack: It's a Ford. 福特。
• Kay: How does it perform? 你的車子用起來如何？
• Jack: It's pretty economical. 相當節省。

IIII. Practice

1. Practice the dialogue with your partner.
2. Tell us how do you go to work?
   1. Do you go to work by bus? By motorbicycle? By car?
   2. What make your motorcycle or car?
   3. How does your car or motorcycle perform?
3. What do you usually do when you are in a heavy traffic jam? Listen to the radio? Talk to your families? Or just wait without saying a word.

Every Jack has his Jill. 每個傑克都有情人。 與中文的「人人自有人人愛」相當。Jack （傑克）是男子名，Jill（吉兒）是女子名。英文類似的句子還有 "Such cup, such cover." （什麼杯，什麼蓋。）而本諺語亦含有「物以類聚」的意思，約源於十七世紀前半葉。
